There's this:
"tolerably-written novella featuring a lesbian who just needs the love of a good man to bring her around"
(this is, I assume, a reference to THE ZOMBIE RAY FROM OUTER SPACE).
WTF man? Did he even read the story? I mean, yes, there's a lesbian, but as far as I can recall she ends up in love with the beautiful scientist, not a man.

Then there's this:
"As for the author's writing talent, I can't judge. He was attempting to hommage the pulps of the 1920s and '30s, so I don't know if he generally 'sounds' like this or not, and many of the stories simply aren't stories. He may be good, he may be bad."

Way to take a stand, buddy. And, because I'm feeling petty - "hommage"?
That was a really stupid book review, written by someone who apparently cannot spell or read.

No, Myrna Loy discovers by the end of the book that she really does love Eddie. But that comment is also a direct echo of something that K. Long said to me about the story... that people might read it and think that I'm basically saying all lesbians are emotionally damaged heterosexuals who only need to meet the right man to find happiness. And although I certainly didn't mean that to be any kind of message... I rarely use characterization as a tool for a message, my characters are people to me... still, I can see where those who want to read that will read that.

If it is K. Long giving me that one star review, I think that last paragraph is his way of kidding himself that he's not being a complete piece of shit. Although, of course, he is.
